MANILA – After a sad New Year's Eve due to the death of her biological mother, comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas is looking forward to a better 2014, including a comeback in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
In an interview on radio dzMM on Sunday night, delas Alas said Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos, during the wake of her mom, confirmed that she will be back on the big screen in this year's MMFF.
"Napag-usapan na namin 'yung film fest and sabi ko sa kanya: 'Tita Malou ha, basta promise mo sa nanay ko, ako ang film fest this year.' Sabi niya: 'Ano ba, kahit wala namang promise sa nanay mo, ikaw naman talaga," the comedienne said.
While details of the film have yet to be announced, the "Comedy Concert Queen" said she might be teaming up with Batangas Governor and award-winning actress Vilma Santos.
Napakaganda nung istorya. Pero sana matuloy. Pero definitely, ang film fest is, kasali ako," she said.
Delas Alas said she really missed being part of the MMFF following the success of the "Tanging Ina Mo" franchise.
The comedienne also said that she is set to do a new soap opera for ABS-CBN.
Delas Alas, who is still grieving over the death of her mother, Gloria Hernandez, said she is currently drawing strength from her son, Sancho, who has always been there for her.
The comedienne said she feels a happier 2014 awaits her, especially after the trials she went through last year which include the break-up with her husband, businessman Jed Salang.
"Sobrang maraming trials, pero alam ko this year, with a blast ika nga.
