Following the release of his new album this year, the 20-year-old stage actor will "dedicate" time to establishing a career in Indonesia.
"I'm releasing my album this year. It’s totally different from the way I used to sound. It’s a new sound and a new look for me as a recording artist. That’s one thing that my fans can look forward to," Concepcion told Push.com.ph.
"Part of 2013, it will be dedicated to my international career, lots of plans going on in Indonesia for my career there," he added.
Before Concepcion, Kapamilya crooner Christian Bautista has successfully penetrated the Indonesian market.
Among other accomplishments there, a number of Bautista's songs earned multi-platinum status in the country. He also topbilled his own musical TV special via Indonesia's largest broadcast station, on top holding numerous concerts there.
Asked if his career move is a way of emulating Bautista, Concepcion said, "Well not exactly because we’re different."
"Of course, a lot of us local Filipino artists would be happy to be known there. I went there this year (2012) a few times which was great. It was good, they were similar to us, they love music a lot and I love performing there," Concepcion said.
Now six years since he won the kiddie talent search "Little Big Star", the singer-actor said he is also ready to take on a more mature image to go with his new record offerings.
"I guess so, because I can't stay young forever. Like as young as I was... basta age appropriate and all that. I can’t do naman super young roles anymore. I won’t be able to sell that," he said.
