Pinoys cast for 'Bourne' film

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) - The much-awaited film "Bourne Legacy," the fourth part of the Hollywood action thriller spy film "Bourne" series, which will shoot in different places of Metro Manila, is indeed looking for Filipinos to appear in the film, which stars Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz..

But contrary to a report published on, which said that the new "Bourne" film will be needing 1,000 Filipinos to appear in the crowd scene, a source involved in the Manila shoot of "Bourne Legacy" clarified to that casting for the movie is now in the callback stage.

The source also said that the people mentioned in the blog post are not part of their staff.

In a phone interview with on Thursday afternoon, Oghie from BMX Talent Agency, the person and agency mentioned in the blog post, said they are still waiting for confirmation on the supposed casting call.

"Sub-agency lang kami, yung kumontak sa amin si Arman, na isang freelance agent, hindi pa siya nagpa-follow up sa amin. So wala pa talagang detalye. Pero marami na nga ang naga-apply," Oghie said.

With the Manila shoot scheduled this month, interest about the movie is increasing, especially in social media sites. Rumors also abound that the film's star, the Oscar-nominated Renner, is already in Manila.

Even Presidential Deputy Spokesperson Abigail Valte seems to have caught the "Bourne" fever.

"A friend just landed the Chief Mechanic gig at the Bourne shoot. Looking forward to all the bike stunts," she announced in her Twitter account on Thursday.

After a follower suggested that they should hang out at the shoot, she replied: "If hubby gets to be one of the bikers, yes :)"

On Tuesday, Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino revealed that the shooting of "Bourne Legacy will take place in different places of Metro Manila.

The locations bared to ABS-CBN News include: Marikina City Market, San Andres Market, Navotas Fishport, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Ayala Avenue, Nagtahan, Pasay Taft, Intramuros and Jones Bridge.

Asked to confirm reports that cameras will start rolling on January 14, Tolentino replied: "Hindi ko pa yan mako-confirm."

Tolentino said the latest "Bourne" film will be filming in Manila for a month.
