MANILA -- Kris Aquino said she is praying for "guidance and wisdom" amid reports saying the TV host has been offered to leave ABS-CBN supposedly to hold a key position at a rival network.
The 42-year-old actress, who is currently in London for a vacation with her sons Joshua and Bimby, addressed her supporters in an Instagram post about a decision she said she has to "reflect on very carefully."
"Please know that whatever decision I make, apart from considering what will be most beneficial for my two sons, it's very important to me to consider what you, my audience, wants," she said in the accompanying caption of an image of Jesus.
The post, which had over 11,700 likes as of writing, drew over 680 comments from her followers. Some expressed their support for Aquino regardless of her decision, while others mentioned her supposed transfer to another network and urged her to stay with ABS-CBN.
Early this week, conflicting reports about the supposed transfer surfaced, with one saying Aquino is set to join GMA-7 and the other, citing a source, alleging the actress-host is "90% sure" about leaving her home network for TV5.
A subsequent report published Friday on entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal, meanwhile, similarly cited a source identified only as a "top-level executive."
According to the report, TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has already offered Aquino to join the No. 3 network. The "Kris TV" host, before leaving for London, also supposedly discussed the matter with Pangilinan over dinner.
On the subject of Aquino's supposed transfer to GMA-7, the report explained that Pangilinan supposedly plans to buy 40% of the network's shares.
Should Aquino transfer to TV5, it won't be the first time a Kapamilya talent has taken up an offer from the relatively new network. Stars who left ABS-CBN for TV5 include Aga Muhlach, Willie Revillame, Sharon Cuneta, and Derek Ramsay.
Aquino, whose contract with ABS-CBN reportedly expired in October 2013 and has yet to be renewed, has been in showbiz since 1992. From a young actress, she made a turn as a popular TV host in 1996 with ABS-CBN's "Today with Kris Aquino." She went on to host several other programs, including game shows like "Game KNB?", while taking up a number of acting projects. Notably, she was tagged as a "horror movie queen" for her string of blockbuster films in the genre.
Her more recent projects include consecutive judging stints on "Pilipinas Got Talent" across four seasons, and the primetime drama series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw." Currently, Aquino hosts the talk and travel program "Kris TV," which airs weekday mornings on ABS-CBN.
