MANILA - Local officials of Binalonan, Pangasinan traded their usual office attire for faux fangs and dark capes as they posed as a vampires to invite people to the town's bloodletting program.
"Inaanyayahan po namin kayong lumahok, sumali, at magbigay ng inyong dugo," Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico III said in a video message as streaks of fake blood seemed to drip from his mouth.
The town's vice mayor and councilors who were also in vampire costumes and make-up sat and stood silently as the mayor delivered a 3-minute monologue.
The group broke into fits of laughter as each official tried to give vampire impersonations while they were introduced by the mayor.
The town's bloodletting activity will be held on June 28 in celebration of the World Blood Donor's Month.
