ABS-CBN strengthens IT infra with Microsoft PH partnership

MANILA, Philippines — Microsoft Philippines renewed its partnership with ABS-CBN, the country’s leading broadcast communication network.

Along with Microsoft Philippines partner Nexus Technologies, the renewed enterprise agreement will help expand a handful of licensed Microsoft technologies for ABS-CBN and platforms for business productivity and enhanced consumer services.

The partnership includes access to Microsoft’s top products and services including Systems System Center Configuration Manager, for managing larger groups of Windows-based computer systems, Exchange, for managing cloud-based mails, and SharePoint, for sharing, managing and working files collaboratively with others.

ABS-CBN is optimistic in investing in Microsoft’s technology and believes that the company’s advanced technology will help strengthen the productivity of their business process.

"This partnership is something that we welcome because we see the value of Microsoft products and platforms and how these will benefit our online initiatives," Mark Lopez, CIO of ABS-CBN, said.

Similarly, Microsoft values the renewed partnership and offered services beyond the agreement including providing additional training to ensure proper deployment of its innovations.

"We continue to build on the growing partnership we have with ABS-CBN," said Nick Jorge, account technology head unit of Microsoft Philippines.

"Enterprise Agreement is not a just a mere licensing partnership. It offers you the most cost-efficient way of purchasing Microsoft licenses to strengthen your business processes. And to properly implement this, we invest heavily on knowledge transfer to ensure that it will be used at its most optimum."

Juan Chua, President of Nexus Technologies, said the partnership fuels the company's passion for innovation.

The rest of the Enterprise Agreement entitlements for ABS-CBN include Windows Client Access License (for administrator access to server software and use the software services), Lync (for instant messaging), Forefront/Endpoint Anti-virus (for file safety and security), Office Standard (for powerful and integrated office applications), and Software Assurance (comprehensive maintenance of softwares).

ABS-CBN will also have a pilot deployment of the Windows Server Hyper-V on production to build the foundation for their private cloud infrastructure.
