(Statement of ABS-CBNnews.com on the technical glitches that affected www.abs-cbnnews.com and www.abs-cbn.com today, April 13, 2012)

(UPDATED) Two of our websites--ABS-CBNnews.com and abs-cbn.com--experienced glitches late afternoon Friday (April 13) while in the process of maintenance.

Those who accessed the site were redirected to a different page. It gave some viewers the impression that our domain names had expired. The registration of our domain names were updated March 2012 and are scheduled to expire in 2017.

When the error was detected, our technicians immediately corrected it.

However, the error was temporarily stored or cached in some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and the correction has taken time to be propagated.

Both websites are already accessible in the Philippines as well as abroad. Other ISPs will later be able to renew their cache so that their subscribers can again access to our sites.

Our apologies for the inconvenience.
