Sony to launch waterproof, dustproof Xperia tablet
TOKYO - Sony Mobile Communications Inc. said Monday it will start selling a new version of its Xperia tablet computer this spring in the Japanese market, featuring a lighter body and new imaging censor.
The water and dust proof Xperia Tablet Z, equipped with a 10.1-inch liquid crystal panel, is compatible with the LTE high-speed network. It weighs 495 grams and is slimmer than its predecessor, with a thickness of 6.9 millimeters, the company said.
The device also comes with a camera equipped with Sony's advanced imaging censor, enabling users to take pictures even in dark places by automatically adjusting shooting mode, it said.
The latest tablet will be available in white and black colors. A retail price has not been unveiled.
