MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom, Inc. on Thursday said it has improved its network in Makati City, following the replacement of cell sites.
"As of December 2012, almost the entire city is now benefitting from a better mobile experience, specifically in the Central Business District, where the most dynamic and vibrant activities in the City take place," Globe Telecom said in a statement.
Such is the case after the deployment of "Cellmax high-gain antennas" to improve the network coverage.
"These network advancements are engineered to empower Makati--its residents, as well as its workers and businesses--with an optimized infrastructure to elevate their mobile experience," the Ayala-led telco said.
The development is part of Globe Telecom's network modernization program implemented early this year.
Last month, the National Telecommunications Commission found services of Globe Telecom and Smart Communications, Inc. below the standard for "dropped call" rate.
But the test, done by the regulator in the third quarter, also found both telcos passing the "blocked calls" and call set-up time standard and with good signal level and quality.
