MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Budget and Management on Wednesday said government employees will be receiving their productivity enhancement incentive (PEI) on December 14 onwards.

"Our efforts to reform the bureaucracy will be successful only if we can make the most of the talents of our public servants," Budget Secretary Florencio Abad said in a statement.

"The PEI is one of the ways through which we hope to motivate our government workers so they are better-positioned to serve the Filipino public," he added.

Each employee is set to receive P5,000 for the PEI regardless of his or her rank or function.

Those eligible to get the PEI include civilian personnel those who occupy regular, contractual or casual positions; appointed or elected; and employed full-time or part-time.

Moreover, the PEI will also be given to military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of National Defense, and uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the National Mapping Resource Information Authority.

The DBM added employees and personnel working for government owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) are also eligible to receive PEI.
