MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Agriculture assures typhoon survivors there is no shortage of rice in their areas.

Some survivors raided a warehouse of the National Food Authority in Cateel, Davao Oriental and allegedly stole 1,000 sacks of rice and 7,000 bags of palay.

In an interview on ANC's Headstart, Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala stressed the need for order and discipline in food distribution.

"Garantisado po, walang po kakulangan sa bigas. Kailangan lang disiplina sa pagdidistribute ng pagkain," he said.
