Publicly listed gaming firm Pacific Online Systems Corp. has signed a distribution deal with Metropass Systems Inc. (Metropass) for its "ScratchIT" instant ticket games.
Pacific Online chief financial officer Rhederick Inciong said the tie-up will boost the company's sales since under the agreement, Metropass will install merchandising fixtures for ScratchIT to provide advertising to its riding public.
"This is very timely especially during the holiday season," he said.
Metropass owns and operates 22 retail stores in all 13 Metro Rail Transit Line 3 or MRT3 stations. The line is also connected to the LRT stations located along Taft Avenue and Cubao and to major shopping malls like Shangri-La, Farmers Plaza, SM Makati and Trinoma.
Pacific Online, the online lottery equipment provider of state-run Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), just recently rolled out its new ScratchIT games -- Red Hot 7's, Mega Money, Double Dollars and Gold Rush -- to complement the Fast Cash and Diamond Dash scratch card lottery.
For the first nine months of the year, its net income amounted to P125 million, up 8 percent from P115 million posted a year earlier. The growth was driven by the P1.46 billion in PCSO lotto sales in the third quarter.
"Pacific Online revenues hit a record of P169 million in the past three months, and thus we cleared P37 million after tax. Ten-month revenues breached the P600 million which have surpassed the full year revenues of P500 million in 2007," the company said.
