DAVAO CITY - Megaworld Corp. said it started construction on a P15-billion business park here that is expected to generate around 100,000 jobs in the business process outsourcing sector.
The first phase of the 11-hectare development in President Rodrigo Duterte's hometown includes two 15-storey mixed-use buildings and a five-star hotel.
"We are investing in Davao heavily. Our first part is the Davao District Park. This project alone should generate around 100,000 jobs primarily in the BPO," said Megaworld board member Kingson Sian.
Future developments in the area include a hospital.
Davao is expecting more real estate investments as Duterte governs both from this southern city and Manila, said Davao City Investment Promotion Center chief Lemuel Ortonio. reports from Vina Araneta, ABS-CBN News
