GSIS to grant emergency loans for 'Pablo'-affected members

MANILA, Philippines - The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will grant emergency loans to more than 345,000 members in the Visayas and Mindanao who were affected by typhoon "Pablo."

Under the loan program, members may borrow up to P20,000, payable in three years in equal monthly payments.

Initial payment will be made three months after the loan.

GSIS members living or working in Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Norte will be able to avail of the loan.

Also covered are GSIS members in Camiguin, Surigao del Norte, Siargao, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Province, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Samal Island, Compostela Valley.

GSIS members in Davao Oriental, North Cotabato, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Maguindanao, Bohol, Siquijor, Southern Cebu, Southern Negros Oriental, Southern Negros Occidental, Southern Leyte, Antique, and Iloilo, Camotes Island can also apply for the emergency loan.

The GSIS began receiving applications for the loan today and will do so until January 5. - With ANC
