Bicam panel passes P2-trillion budget for 2013
MANILA, Philippines - The Bicameral Conference Committee has approved the reconciliation of the clashing provisions of the 2013 budget bills of the Senate and House of Representatives.
Senate finance committee chair Franklin Drilon says the panel approved a budget of P2 trillion, with a deduction of P100 million after Senator Panfilo Lacson waived his pork barrel for 2013.
The P100 million was allocated for unfunded projects.
Drilon says there were minimal changes since there were minimal differences between the House and Senate versions.
Major allocations went to education, conditional cash transfer and health. The budget of the Department of Health may be adjusted depending on sin tax revenues. The budget also includes allocations for infrastructure and construction of high schools.
