MANILA, Philippines - The P2.006-trillion budget for 2013 is expected to be approved by the upper House on third and final reading on Tuesday, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Franklin Drilon said.
"I am confident that our colleagues have seen the urgency of this bill and that all their concerns and clarifications were already addressed during the last three extended session days," Drilon said in a statement.
If the Senate approves the 2013 budget on third and final reading later today, such can be tackled by the Bicameral Committee Conference on Wednesday until next week, Drilon said.
"Since our committee did not propose major amendments to the House version, I see no conflicts with the House of Representatives if we ask to hasten the approval of the bill," Drilon noted.
The senator added the 2013 budget bill, after being ratified by both chambers of the house, is expected to be presented to the President by the third week of December.
