MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Pacific group has sweetened its offer to operate the Subic-Clark-Tarlac expressway by raising the concession fee of the government to P90 billion from P60 billion previously.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. president Ramoncito Fernandez says they have also increased the government's share in revenues to 30% of gross toll revenue yearly from 20%.

Fernandez says Metro Pacific's offer won't necessarily make tollroads a losing business.

"That's where our efficiency is. Connecting the 2 toll roads will cost us... Mag-benefit ang NLEx because they'll have a bigger toll road, so they will be more efficient," he said. - ANC
