MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) made another record close on Monday, settling at 5,672.70, up 0.57%.
The rally comes as the PSE celebrates its 20th anniversary. This is the 33rd time the PSEi hit a record high this year.
Among today's gainers are Manuel Pangilinan's group Metro Pacific Investments Corp., which climbed 1.59% to P4.45, after announcing it will invest nearly P200 million in the De Los Santos Medical Center.
Also up are Megaworld Corp., which rose over 4% and SM Prime Holdings, which surged 3.8%.
At the foreign exchange market, the peso ended 2 centavos higher, closing at 40.88 against the US dollar. - ANC
