MANILA, Philippines - National Treasurer Roberto Tan is set to represent the country as a representative to the World Bank starting November.
Tan will take post as the Bank's Executive Director for Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago for two years.
Executive Directors are tasked to consider and decide on loan and credit proposals made by the World Bank president. They are also responsible for policy issues that shape the general operations of the Bank.
Deputy Treasurer Gisela Lood will be the officer-in-charge at the Bureau of Treasury pending the appointment of a new National Treasurer.
