MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom said it is almost finished modernizing its network in the Visayas region.
Globe Head of Visayas Network Technical Group and Network Operations Mike Sandil said that the results of the company’s new Visayas network are "very encouraging."
"We are pleased to note that here in the Visayas, we continue to raise industry standards as mandated by the National Telecommunications Commission. Based on our internal benchmarking tests, our call setup improvement was at 99.40%, higher than the NTC’s criterion of 96%. The dropped call rate is now at 1.01%, way lower than the NTC norm of 2%,” said Sandil.
For instance, after Globe completed the modernization of its network in Metro Cebu, SMS end-to-end delivery success percentages and delivery time and call-setup time all showed improvements.
Sandil said the island of Leyte is already set for modernization followed by Samar and Bohol toward yearend. Network modernization of Iloilo and Roxas provinces is set for 2013.
