MANILA, Philippines - Gokongwei-led Go Hotels is set to open three new branches, as it ramps up its expansion program.
Robinsons Land's value hotel chain is opening branches in Ortigas, Iloilo and Butuan, which brings its total number of rooms to over 1,200.
"We are building strategically-located branches in the Ortigas central business district, in Iloilo and in Butuan," said Go Hotels general manager Elizabeth D. Gregorio.
Gregorio noted the rise in tourist arrivals augurs well for the hotel chain.
"These are exciting times for the Philippine tourism as the hospitality business open more outlets, especially in Metro Manila, in anticipation of the arrival of more tourists because of the government's focus on the industry," she said.
The new hotels are located near Robinsons malls. Go Hotels Iloilo and Butuan are within a Robinsons Malls complex while the Ortigas branch is walking distance from Robinsons Galleria.
"Go Hotels Ortigas Center will serve the growing number of business travellers and tourists visiting the central business district and the malls in the area," said Gregorio.
Go Hotels Ortigas Center will have 198 rooms opening this quarter.
The Butuan branch, which opens later this year, will have 102 rooms. The Iloilo branch will open in the first quarter of next year with 167 hotel rooms, making it the chain's biggest branch outside Metro Manila.
At present, Go Hotels has six existing branches: EDSA-Mandaluyong, Tacloban, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa and Otis-Manila.
