It's not everyday you meet a guy named "Yogi."

So, when we talked to Security Bank's top man, Alfonso "Yogi" Salcedo, we just had to ask: Why the nickname?

Turns out, his parents named him after the famous baseball player, Yogi Berra of the New York Yankees.

Berra had come to Manila for an exhibition game, around the time the banker "Yogi" was born.

And, like a self-fulfilling prophecy, Yogi too played softball in his youth, seven years in all.

His position? The catcher, just like his namesake player. -- ANC Market Edge, October 7, 2015
