MANILA, Philippines - Power consumers in Mindanao will have to brace themselves for another round of rotating blackouts when one of its power sources shuts down for more than a month.
The Department of Energy says the 210-megawatt coal-fired power plant of Steag will be closed for repairs from October 6 to November 10.
The shutdown worsens the power supply situation in Mindanao, whose grid does not have enough reserves. Residents there should expect 1 to 2 hours of rotating power outages for more than a month. - ANC
