MANILA - Young entrepreneurs are leading business and jobs growth in Southeast Asia and the Philippines seeks to help them thrive by providing easy access to financing, among others, an official said Friday.
The “exuberance” of young businessmen has led to new ventures in the digital, biotechnology, energy and environment spaces, said Trade Undersecretary Nora Terrado.
“The ASEAN member states and particularly the Philippines are committed to ensure that we create a new breed of businesses run and enabled by technology and this will be led by youth entrepreneurs,” Terrado told ANC’s Market Edge with Cathy Yang.
“The good news is that automation is enhancing and speeding up the way of doing business with ease across ASEAN and that is where the vibrant intellectual power as well as the entrepreneurial drive of the youth will come in as they participate and push forward to address the needs in the markets,” Terrado said.
