MANILA, Philippines - The Palace sees the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit as an opportunity to foster "greater cooperation" among the member nations, as well as strengthen relations and economic cooperation.
President Aquino is attending the APEC summit in Russia's east coast city of Vladivostok this weekend.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the official delegation accompanying President Aquino is composed of 67 members. Among the officials joining the President in the trip are Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Mar Roxas in his capacity as DOTC Secretary, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Energy Secretary Rene Almendras, and Laura del Rosario, Undersecretary for International Economic Relations, APEC National Secretariat.
Lacierda said that existing issues between the Philippines and China "should not be a hindrance" to discussions on economic cooperation among the member nations.
