First Philippine Holdings eyes Bulacan bulk water project

MANILA, Philippines - First Philippine Holdings Corp. is eyeing a bid for the P24.4 billion Bulacan bulk water supply project of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, FPH said its participation in the bidding for the project will be through a consortium. However, no details were provided.

"The Board of Directors of First Philippine Holdings Corporation approved the participation of FPH, through a consortium, in the bidding for the Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project. This is subject to the finalization of definitive agreements with its potential partner(s), the conduct of due diligence and compliance with the bidding requirements, among others," FPH said.

Earlier, 15 prospective bidders purchased pre-qualification documents from the MWSS. These include Manila Water Company, Japan's Marubeni, Filinvest Development Corp, Megawide, San Miguel Holdings, First Balfour, Maynilad Water Services, among others.

The deadline for submission of bid documents is September 19.
