Xiamen Airlines eyes flights to Manila - report

MANILA, Philippines - Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines is seeking to mount flights to the Philippines, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported on Monday.

The Inquirer said Xiamen Airlines, a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines, filed a petition with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) for permission to fly international passenger and cargo air transport services in the country.

CAB scheduled a hearing on September 25.

At present, there are three Chinese carriers operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) -- China Southern, China Air and China Eastern.
