ABS-CBN wins big at 2014 Spark Awards

MANILA - ABS-CBN Corporation bagged honors in this year's Spark Awards for Media Excellence of Marketing magazine.

ABS-CBN took home three gold, two silver, and four bronze trophies, capping it with the Best in Show award.

"Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na," which was launched to help victims of super typhoon "Yolanda," won gold in the Best Campaign by a Media Owner and Best Media Solution - Integrated Media categories.

The "Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na" solidarity concert also won gold in the Best Event by a Media Owner category.

"Pamilya OnGuard" and "PasaHero Mobile Application" bagged silver in the Best Use of Branded Content by a Media Owner category and Best App by a Media Owner category, respectively.

Pamilya OnGuard, in partnership with Procter & Gamble Philippines (Safeguard), provides information on how the public can protect themselves from germs and sickness.

The PasaHero Mobile Application, meanwhile, allows Filipino commuters to map, broadcast and even record a trip for safety purposes, and if needed, instantly alert family or friends of any danger encountered while on the road.

Another content, "The CLEAR National Aspirants Camp," in partnership with CLEAR (Unilever Philippines), won bronze at the Best Use of Branded Content by a Media Owner category.

Also bagging bronze trophies were "Choose Philippines: Find, Discover, Share" for Best Website by a Media Owner; "ABS-CBN's Grand Kapamilya Weekend" for Best Event by a Media Owner; and "Online Bahay ni Kuya" for Best Campaign by a Media Owner.

ABS-CBN's rival, GMA Marketing and Productions, took home three gold, one silver, and three bronze trophies.

The winners were named at The Westin Hotel in Singapore on Thursday. They were selected by media professionals who head some of the most renowned agencies in the Southeast Asia region, such as Havas, Mindshare and ZenithOptimedia, among others.

The Spark Awards, which is organized by Marketing magazine, honors top media owners in the region, and serves as a platform for them to showcase their innovation, effectiveness, and value proposition to advertisers, agencies and clients.
