MANILA, Philippines - Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares on Tuesday accepted the ice bucket challenge.
In a video posted on ABS-CBN reporter Anthony Taberna's Instagram account, Henares is seen wearing a blue Ateneo sweatshirt before a bucket of ice water is poured over her head.
Henares nominated BIR deputy commissioner Estela Sales to also do the same.
"Yun oh! Yan ang matapang, di umaatras sa hamon. Ayos, commissioner kim henares. At ang hinamon, deputy commissioner estela sales! #alsicebucketchallenge," Taberna posted on Instagram.
Taberna had earlier nominated Henares, after he was doused with cold water live on his morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda."
The ALS ice bucket challenge has gone viral in the last few weeks. Anyone nominated to do the ice bucket challenge has to do it within a certain period or donate to the ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association.
The ALS Association has raised over $70 million since July 29, as the ice bucket challenge has been taken up by celebrities, political and business figures all over the world.
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord, which eventually leads to paralysis.
