QUEZON -- Two linemen were killed, while another was hurt, after an emergency restoration tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) collapsed in Pagbilao, Quezon Sunday afternoon, police said.
According to Police Chief Insp. Jun Von Nuyda, they received a report about the incident from NGCP foreman Ruel Duruha, who told them that a 100-meter high emergency restoration tower collapsed while their linemen were repairing it.
Three linemen were rushed to Jane County Hospital in Pagbilao. Two of the victims -- Abel Saburao, 22, of Cagayan de Oro City, and Jeffrey Rivera, 23, of Tabango, Leyte -- were declared dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, Sandy Formentera, 25, of Camotes Island, Cebu, was transferred to Quezon Medical Center in Lucena for treatment. -- report from Johnny Glorioso, DZMM
