MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific ranked 99th out of 313 airlines on FlightView's global on-time performance (OTP) report for flights last last June.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific said it was the only Philippine carrier to land in the top 100 of airlines in the report by FlightView.
FlightView, a recognized provider of real-time global flight and airport information services, measures on-time performance of airlines based on flights arriving within 15 minutes of schedule.
Cebu Pacific said it posted a 81.7 percent On Time Arrival rating for 9,487 flights it operated last June 2014. This despite the continued runway congestion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, which has been blamed by airlines for flight delays.
The average OTP for Asia-Pacific carriers was 68.98 percent in June 2014, while North American carriers’ OTP was estimated at 73.31 percent. Major and regional European carriers achieved a 79.88 percent average OTP.
"CEB works hard to ensure that our on-time performance is at par with world standards. We fully support government initiatives including the NAIA runway optimization project which aims to decongest NAIA. This project will increase runway movements, improve slot management and also upgrade airport infrastructure,” said Jorenz Tañada, Cebu Pacific Air Vice President, Corporate Affairs.
