MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) - Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT) said its landline service was temporarily disrupted in parts of Metro Manila, Cavite and Laguna for several hours on Friday.
PLDT said the outage, which started at 10 a.m., was traced to "a malfunction in one of its switching facilities in Quezon City."
PLDT said its landline voice services were fully restored at 3:05 p.m.
"We are now conducting a technical review in order to take corrective measures that will prevent a repeat of this incident. Again, we wish to extend our sincere apologies to our customers and the public," the company said.
