MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific Air is trying to boost traffic between Manila and Taipei by using bigger planes and holding a seat sale.

Cebu Pacific said up to three of its seven weekly Manila-Tapei-Manila flights will use a 436-seater Airbus A330 aircraft, from August 5-30, 2014. It will use 180-seater Airbus A320 aircraft for the rest of the week.

The Gokongwei-led airline had upgraded the aircraft used for this route from May 2 to July 19, 2014 to accommodate more passengers during the summer season.

"We encourage guests to take advantage of the additional seats to Taipei, and book our trademark lowest fares when planning their trips. They can take this opportunity to explore not just Taipei but also other parts of Northern Taiwan,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.

Cebu Pacific is holding a P699 seat sale between Manila and Taipei until July 12, 2014 or until seats last. Travel period is from August 15 to November 30, 2014.

After the seat sale, lowest year round fares from Manila to Taipei start at P1,089.
