MANILA, Philippines - Taiwan is seeking to boost the profile of its brands in the Philippines.
The Taiwan Excellence campaign was recently launched by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council in the Philippines.
The campaign is aimed at raising brand awareness for Taiwanese companies, with the introduction of a Taiwan Excellence seal of quality.
With this campaign, Taiwan-Philippine trade is expected to increase by at least 5 percent this year from bilateral trade of $12 billion in 2013.
"We plan to introduce Taiwan Excellence to the Philippines so that Filipinos who buy our products may have an assurance that they are getting the best and highest quality products. Taiwan Excellence is an assurance of quality and innovation, and allows Filipino consumers to make educated decisions about their purchases," said Walter M. S. Yeh, Executive Vice President of TAITRA.
Actress and host Iya Villania has been appointed as celebrity endorser of the campaign for the Philippines.
Among the Taiwan brands participating in the campaign are Acer, Asus, BenQ, Transcend, Teco, Tatung, HCG, and SYM. The Taiwan Excellence assures Filipino buyers that they are purchasing world-class, innovative, reliable, and worthy products that conform to the highest quality standards.
