MANILA, Philippines - The tandem of Aboitiz Equity Ventures and J.V. Angeles Construction Corp. (JVACC) has received the notice of award for the bulk water supply project for Davao City.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, AEV said JVACC has received, on behalf of the consortium, the notice of award from the Davao City Water District (DCWD) for the financing, design, construction and operations of the Tamugan Surface Water Developments Project.

AEV said the consortium will still have to comply with the requirements in the notice of award before it can sign the agreement with DCWD.

Earlier, AEV entered into a memorandum of understanding with JVACC to supply treated bulk water to DCWD. This includes building a hydro-electric-powered bulk water treatment facility and a conveyance system needed to deliver treated bulk water to numerous delivery points.

The consortium had proposed to supply 300 million liters per day of potable bulk water.
