MANILA - Maynilad Water Services on Thursday said a weak peso would "impact" a potential tariff increase since the local unit's slide would pad borrowing costs.
The water distributor is currently in re-basing discussions with regulators and a tariff adjustment might happen before the year ends, Maynilad president and CEO Ramoncito Fernandez told ANC.
"Definitely this will increase the cost of borrowing. A part of that is compensation for all the cost related to our delivery of service. definitely the cost of borrowing will have an impact on our tariff increase," he said.
