MANILA, Philippines - Actor Zoren Legaspi on Friday submitted his counter-affidavit before the Department of Justice regarding the P4.45 million tax evasion complaint filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Last week, Legaspi's accountant Flora Capili admitted the actor has four tax identification numbers (TIN).
Possessing more than one TIN is prohibited under the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) because it may be used as a a tool to evade payment of correct taxes.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed the complaint on May 8 after records showed that Legaspi underdeclared his income for taxable years 2010 and 2012 by declaring only P6.79 million in 2010, and P1.82 million in 2012. - from a report by Noel Alamar, DZMM
