MANILA, Philippines - Five international airlines are transferring their operations to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in August.

NAIA 3 manager Octavio Lina said Delta Airlines will be the first to transfer to Terminal 3 on August 1, with four daily flights.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates, Singapore Air and Cathay Pacific will also be transferring to Terminal 3 by mid to end of August.

KLM will have two daily flights and Emirates will have 6 daily flights. Singapore Air will have 8 daily flights, while Cathay Pacific will have 10 daily flights.

These five airlines will be using Terminal 3's south wing, which has not been used for several years.

The use of Terminal 3 for international flights is expected to help ease congestion at the NAIA Terminal 1, which is currently undergoing renovation

Lina also said the systems for check-in counters and baggage handling are currently being finished at Terminal 3.

Around 300 closed circuit TV (CCTV) cameras are being installed inside and outside NAIA 3 and will be operational by August. - from a report by Dexter Ganibe, DZMM
