MANILA, Philippines - Shares rallied to another record high on Tuesday, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index breaching the 7,300 level less than two weeks since it surpassed the 7,200 mark.
The PSEi went up by 0.7% or 50.84 points to close at 7,313.46 -- its 30th record high for the year. The broader all-shares index, meanwhile, gained 0.41% or 18.52 points to 4,535.86.
Total volume traded reached 1.47 billion shares worth P10.02 billion.
There were 81 advancers and 81 decliners, while 50 issues remained unchanged.
Only two sub-indices were in the red: the mining and oil companies, which lost 2.59%, and the holdings firms, which fell 0.05%.
Most active stocks were Bloomberry Resorts Corp., whose shares climbed 2.79% to P12.54 apiece; and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., whose shares went up 2.62% to P3,210.
Shares of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (+3.42%), BDO Unibank Inc. (+2.04%), Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (-1.62%), Ayala Land Inc. (+0.75%), and LT Group Inc. (+1.76%) were also among the most traded on Tuesday.
