Cebu Pacific to return planes to Tiger Airways Singapore

MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Air Inc. (Cebu Pacific) has returned two of five Airbus planes of its newly-acquired unit Tiger Airways Philippines to its former parent Tiger Airways Singapore Pte.

Atty. Jorenz Tanada, Cebu Pacific vice president for corporate affairs, said the budget airline returned Tigerair Philippines' 2 Airbus A319 to Tiger Airways Singapore last March.

The remaining three A320 planes will be returned by the third quarter of 2014.

"Cebu Pacific returned the Airbus A319 aircraft last March to Tiger Singapore. All A320 aircraft will be returned by the third quarter this year," he said.

The Gokongwei airline completed its acquisition of Tigerair Philippines last March.

Cebu Air acquiring in full the local unit of Singaporean low cost carrier Tiger Airways for $15-million (around P665 million). It bought Tiger Airways' 40 percent in Tigerair Philippines and 60 percent held by the Singapore-based airline's local partners.
