MANILA, Philippines -- Citi Philippines won two awards at the 5th Retail Banker International (RBI) Asia Trailblazer Awards in Singapore.
Citi Philippines bagged the Product Excellence Award, where it was cited as Highly Commended for Product Excellence in Near Field Communication (NFC) and Contactless Payments; and Channel Excellence Awards, where it was proclaimed the Winner for Channel Excellence in Internet Banking.
"Citi continues to lead innovation in the country...These awards show our commitment to raising the bar for our clients. We continue to provide products tailored to their needs, creating an easy seamless banking experience," Citi Philippines CEO Batara Sianturi said.
Citi was the first to introduce the contactless payment technology in the Philippines in 2013. With the payWave technology, cardholders can experience faster payments at partner establishments.
Citi also improved its award-winning internet banking platform in 2013, allowing clients to enjoy an even more superior online banking service.
"Citi provides clients with easy access to their accounts online across a wide range of popular devices, including mobiles and tablets. Our digital platform has evolved and empowers our clients to maximize their finances with more options," Citi Philippines Consumer Business Manager Bea Tan said.
Meanwhile, Citi Singapore also took home the Service Excellence Award for Mass Affluent Banking, while Citi Asia Pacific was highly commended for Channel Excellence in Innovative Service Delivery for the Citi ATMs.
The RBI Asia Trailblazer Awards focuses on innovation and reflects critical banking standards across categories including service excellence, strategy excellence, product excellence and process excellence.
