MANILA, Philippines - Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon has created a task force that will ensure that revenue collection targets are achieved.

Biazon created “Task Force on Revenue Enhancements for the Attainment of Collection Targets” or Task Force REACT amid the bureau’s failure to reach the target in March.

Customs Special Order No. 17-2012 prescribes that the task force should coordinate with the different ports to ensure implementation of revenue enhancement and protection measures and policies emanating from the Office of the Commissioner.

It is also mandated to recommend the issuances of Letters of Authority under Section 2536 of the [Tariffs and Customs Code of the Philippines], as well as Alert/Hold Orders against shipments suspected to be imported or exported in violation of customs laws, rules and regulations.

Teddy Sagaral was appointed head of the task force. The other members are: Rico Reyes Jr., Juan Gregorio Tomagan, Erwin Rudolph Battad, Bienvenido Entico Jr., and Elvin Maurice Mackay.
