Globe Telecom, the country's second biggest telecommunications firm, has launched new postpaid plans which cater specifically to users of the BlackBerry smartphone.
Called Personal BlackBerry Plans, these are postpaid data plans which offer free mobile internet hours. The said service has been available to users of BlackBerry and BlackBerry Connect handsets since April 20.
"Consumers can make the most of their Blackberry Storm and other Blackberry devices by subscribing to Globe's new Personal Blackberry Plans. These are one-of-a-kind plans that, combined with our GPlans and GFlex Plans, put together a call, text messaging and mobile Internet package in one so customers can fully enjoy their BlackBerry handsets," said Ferdinand dela Cruz, Globe's Wireless Business Head.
Globe's Personal BlackBerry Plans are available at Plan 700 for 5 megabytes of data, Plan 850 for 8 MB of data, and Plan 1100 for 10 MB of data. Regular mobile internet browsing rates of P0.15 per kilobyte apply in excess of the plan.
Globe reported a 15-percent drop in net income last year at P11.28 billion against P13.3 billion in 2007 on lower consumer spending and higher expenses.
