Villar's Starmall to spend P15B for nationwide expansion
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Manny Villar's Starmall Group is spending P15 billion to expand its chain of malls throughout the country, especially in Visayas and Mindanao in the next five years.
To kick off its expansion, the company opened on Sunday a new Starmall in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. This is the sixth in Starmall's expanding chain of shopping malls.
The new 3-level Starmall has a total lot area of 52,522 square meters. The mall includes a Puregold supermarket, Finds Department Store, Metro Home Depot and two cinemas.
It is located in San Jose del Monte, which is expected to be the main northern terminal for a proposed light rail project as well as a proposed loop highway that will connect the north and south expressways.
Other Starmalls are located in Las Pinas, EDSA Shaw, Alabang, and Worldwide Corporate Center.
