MANILA - Mall and banking conglomerate SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) has consolidated its entertainment brands in its bid to become the largest and best managed lifestyle entertainment solutions company in Southeast Asia.
Fresh from creating the most valuable property firm in the region, SMIC said it combined its lifestyle and entertainment businesses to create a portfolio of formidable brands under one roof.
The holding firm created SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. (SMLEI), the educational, sports, and recreational arm of umbrella property firm SM Prime Holdings Inc.
The lifestyle and entertainment solutions company is composed of 12 major brands related to movies, events and leisure.
“This year, SM once again is responding to change with the foundation of SMLEI, an evolution grounded from West Avenue Theatres Corp.’s already impressive and accomplished credentials but with more enticing offerings under its sleeve,” said SM Prime president Hans T. Sy.
“We are a lifestyle entertainment solutions company with movies playing in 267 screens in the country,” said SMLEI president Edgar C. Tejerero.
SMLEI manages venues for events ranging from 400 to 20,000 seating capacities that come with their own matching entry and ticketing system.
“We can serve you popcorn to fine dining and provide a venue for leisure activities on the ice or on the bowling lane,” Tejerero said.
“The company shall very well in the future serve its mission-vision of being the largest, best managed lifestyle entertainment solutions company in Southeast Asia,” Sy said.
Known for its synergistic approach across its businesses, SM said it takes advantage of the opportunities and synergies of its core businesses with the lifestyle and entertainment sectors.
“With a bigger organization and 12 brands and growing, you can expect our nationwide reach and the great advantage of our synergy and as an organization under the SM Group,” Tejerero said.
SMLEI committed to offer the best in movies, events, leisure and technology through SM Cinema, Director’s Club Cinema, IMAX Theatre, WM Cinemas, SM Skating Rink, SM Bowling Center, SM Science Center, Snack Time, ePLUS and SM Tickets.
