MANILA, Philippines – Toyota Philippines said units of Innova, Fortuner, and Hilux sold from November 2004 to June 2010 are covered by the global recall announced Wednesday due to defects in their spiral cable retainer.
Toyota said the defect may cause the driver airbag to fail, but the automotive firm also said no such incidents have been reported in the country.
Toyota didn't say how many of the 6.4 million recalled around the world are here in the Philippines.
The company said it will replace this part and will inform all buyers of the affected units.
Owners of these units should contact any Toyota dealer or call the company at 812-2912 for more information or to schedule the replacement.
