E-trikes dealership opens in Iloilo City

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-owned electric tricycle maker EMotors, Inc. has opened its first dealership in Iloilo City.

EMotors is the firm behind ZUM e-trikes, which is considered an environmentally-friendly alternative to the tricycle.

“This marks another milestone in our goal to serve the needs of Filipinos for an affordable, low cost, low maintenance, innovative and easy to use vehicle, one that helps increase one’s income while at the same time, help clean our air,” EMotors CEO Elizabeth Lee said.

Lee was joined by Senate President Franklin Drilon, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog, and ZüM Iloilo Dealership President Alan Sy at the ZüM dealership’s opening ceremonies.

“With the launch of EMotors ZUM Iloilo, we again emphasize the environment. I am pleased that EMotors has chosen Iloilo to be the spearhead of this effort to clean up our environment through the electric tricycles which is so essential if we are to succeed in our clean air campaign,” Drilon said.

“Apart from the business aspect-doing business in the city, it is the environmentally friendly facility we are looking for. The ZUM etrikes are not only environmentally friendly but they also yield a better economic benefit for the owners of these electric tricycles,” he added.

EMotors opened a dealership in Cebu in February.

EMotors is the country’s first 100% Filipino-owned manufacturer and assembler of three-wheeled zero-emission electric vehicles to be registered with the Department of Trade and Industry/Board of Investment’s Motor Vehicle Development Program under EO156.

The company is also accredited with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
