MANILA - The country’s chief gaming regulator on Tuesday told investors not to believe in Vice President Leni Robredo, who has talked against President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs on the international stage.

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp Chairman Andrea Domingo asked delegates to a Southeast Asian gaming summit if they had seen dead bodies lying around or witnessed torture, allegations frequently hurled at the President.

“If you haven’t, please, do not believe Leni Robredo. She has maligned our country and our people. I feel very badly about this,” Domingo said.

Domingo said the allegations against Duterte were “unfair and untrue.” She added the President had the mandate of 16 million people who elected him into office last year.

In a videotaped message to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs Robredo detailed alleged police abuses in Duterte’s anti-drug drive, including a racket wherein a suspect’s relative is taken into custody if he or she is not found.

Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said Robredo’s actions could be grounds for her impeachment.

Domingo said Robredo's actions showed "she will do anything" to become president.

"I'm sorry I have to tell you this. She maligned my country, my Filipino people, my policemen," she said.

"I am an ordinary government worker. I only have this international forum to share my sentiments. Thanks for bearing with me on this," she said.
