Globe unveils new ‘unlimited’ service

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom, Inc. has launched “MySuperTxtAll,” the first unlimited texting promo that lets users send SMS or short messages to users from any network.

In a statement, Globe Telecom said MySuperTxtAll is available to all postpaid subscribers for P599 for 30 days or P20/day. Under the promo, users can send unlimited messages not only to Globe and TM users, but also to Smart, Talk ‘n Text, Red and Sun subscribers.

The promo is the latest add-on to customizable Globe My Super Plan, which lets postpaid subscribers choose which services to include in their plans, Globe Telecom said. The offer is available until May 30, with the fee charged on top of the subscriber’s bill.

Globe Telecom’s earnings fell by 23% to P9.7 billion in 2010 from P12.6 billion in 2009, due to a “hypercompetitive industry.”

The telecommunication giant ended 2010 with a total of 26.5 million mobile SIM or subscriber identification module base, 14% higher than the tally of 23.2 million in 2009.

Shares in Globe Telecom closed at P685.00 apiece Friday, 3.32% or P22.00 higher than its previous closing of P663.00 per share on Thursday.
