MANILA - Bank of the Philippine Islands on Thursday invoked bank secrecy laws and said it would not address allegations from Senator Antonio Trillanes against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Trillanes had revived allegations Duterte moved billions of pesos in secret accounts with the Ayala-led bank.

"In BPI, we adhere to all relevant and applicable Philippine banking laws and regulations.  We value our clients’ trust and we are bound by the laws on client confidentiality," the bank said in a statement.
